Is grammar really important?

In China, students there spend much more time studying grammar than studying pronunciation.

1. When most people think of "grammar" they don't get very excited.
2. Grammar is not the goal. For most people, the goal is not to become a grammar expert—the goal is to be able to speak the language you want to study conversationally.
3. Studying Spanish grammar will not make you fluent.

But I felt excited when I studied English grammar. Because I got English by grammar at first. It was grammar that made me enter the gate of English.
