他只能見一片殷紅，嘴裡腥甜，四肢綿軟
——自己應是死了。

怪物再次吞噬了他，但這次他面對的不是別人。
高大的鎧甲沉默不語，他被牢牢禁錮在那雙手臂中，說話的是戴墨鏡的女人。

「聽我說，我可以再殺你一遍，否則沒法把你帶回去。」
她的聲音很溫柔，連他體內的怪物也安靜了下來，聽她說話。
「但我不想那麼做。」
女人俯下身，在他耳邊輕語。那是他無法拒絕的交易。
「你們想要什麼？」
「還有比目睹不死之人如何死去更令人高興的事麼？『他』這麼說。」

高大鎧甲鬆開了手臂。「命運」已在前方，他會同他們一起走。
「聽我說，阿刃，放輕鬆。」
「聽我說，你什麼都不要想。」
他點點頭，女人走到他身邊。她笑著，他卻覺得那笑容非常悲傷。
「也許有人離開了她，沒有聽她說完話。」他想。  

Character Story: Part III

The only thing he could sense was a splotch of crimson in his sight and the taste of iron in his mouth. His limbs were unresponsive.
— He must have died.

The monster swallowed him again, but this time, his enemy is not another person.
The imposing armor stayed quiet. He was grappled and imprisoned within those pair of arms. The speaker was the woman with sunglasses.

"Listen, I can always kill you again, otherwise I can't bring you back."
Her voice was very gentle, and even the monster inside his body stayed silent to listen to her.
"But I don't want to."
The woman leaned down and whispered in his ear. It was a deal he couldn't refuse.
"What do you people want?"
"Is there anything more satisfying than seeing how the undying die? That's what 'he' said."

The giant armor loosened its arms. "Destiny" was ahead, and he will be leaving with them.
"Listen, Bladie, loosen up."
"Listen, don't think about anything at all." He nodded. The woman walked to his side, smiling. Yet he thought her smile looked very sad.
"Maybe someone left her before they could listen to everything she had to say," he thought.

他什麼都看不見了。

他想起幾十年前，自己隨商船來到仙舟，為此地的鬼斧神工所折服。
少年茶飯不思，肆意揮灑自己的靈感，他鍛造百種奇物，其中有四件最為著名。

名為「支離」的劍通體無瑕，漆色中泛著血光，只有仙舟最強劍士方能詮釋此劍的真諦。
狐人少女曾在絕境中用曲弓三箭並發，卻仍不忘一邊駕駛星槎一邊同眾人談笑。
黑髮龍角的男子以御水之術為同伴療傷，在下個瞬間又將水附著於長槍之上，瞬間刺穿敵方。
還有那總愛同他拌嘴的少年，見到這把陣刀時，卻是一把搶了過去，再也不願放手。

如今，██已經死了，這最初的、唯一的死亡。
但他仍在此處，那尚如少年的頭腦思索著，他將永遠思索著。
他思索著自己不再靈巧的雙手，那雙手已無法再打造任何兵刃
——但這一切與他無關。
從今往後，那具軀殼，將是唯一的「刃」。  

Character Story: Part IV

He could no longer see anything.

He remembered that, decades ago, he came to the Xianzhou with a merchant vessel and was impressed by the superb craftsmanship of this place.
The young man was obsessed to the point of forgetting to eat or drink, and spent his inspiration like he was running out of time. He forged hundreds of marvels, four of which were the most famous.

The sword named Shard Sword was flawless in its make, its inky body glimmered with a sheen of sanguine. Only the strongest swordmaster on the Xianzhou could demonstrate the true meaning of this blade.
The foxian girl once loosened three arrows simultaneously with her recurve bow in a dire situation, while still continuing to navigate the starskiff and laughing with the others.
The black-haired man with dragon horns used his water manipulation abilities to rejuvenate his allies, and in the next moment he bound the water upon his spear and used it to run his enemies through.
There was also the boy who kept bickering with him. Yet the moment the youth saw the Devastator Glaive, he grabbed it and never wished to part with it.

Now, ██ had died. His first — and only — death.
However, he was still here, his youth-like brain churning and thinking - thinking for all eternity.
He thought about his hands that were no longer dexterous. The hands that could no longer forge another weapon.
— But none of this mattered to him.
From this moment on, that body will be the one and only "Blade."

他夢見自己站在祭壇上，舞雩吟誦。歌謠與手勢不過是表象，雙眸中放出的光明，血脈中涌動的風暴才是真髓。他信手編織鱗淵境中如煙似霧的浪濤，將躁狂的「龍」鎮入蔓生的巨木中。隨著長吟沖天散去，鱗淵境將再續數百年的平靜，而他的使命也宣告完成。

禮畢，他回頭望去。離去的石階上，不知何時站立著數不清龍角華服的尊者。他們宛如鏡中留影，以微妙的誤差一個個舞袖、轉身、準備離去。不可盡數的人結成天梯，向著無窮盡的虛空延伸出去，所有人的面容每日晨起時都在鏡中與他相見——那是他的臉。

不，那是屬於最初的龍尊的臉。他苦笑著，將手掌覆上自己的五官，似在確認自己是否能撕下這副面具，將它交還給真正的主人。

Character Story: Part I

• Unlocked at Character Level 20

In the dim abyss devoid of light, he seemed to have returned to the insides of a Vidyadhara egg, being ceaselessly churned in tumultuous waves and elusive dreams.

He dreamed he was standing before a sacrificial altar, dancing and chanting. However, the songs and gestures were mere facades. The light emanating from his eyes and the storm roiling in his blood were the true forces at play. Casually, he wove the misty and foggy tide in Scalegorge Waterscape, sealing the maddened and frenzied "dragon" into the propagating giant tree. As the echoing roar streamed up into the heavens and dissipated, Scalegorge Waterscape will continue its peace for centuries more, and his duty was over.

The ceremony ended, and he turned to look behind him. In the blink of an eye, the stairs he had stepped down from had become full of standing dignitaries with draconic horns and dressed like royalty. As if they were mirages in a mirror, each of them turned and their sleeves swirled with the motion, ready to leave one after another in a meticulously calculated arrangement. Innumerable, they formed a staircase to the sky, stretching into the never-ending spatial void. The faces of all these people would greet him every morning in his dressing mirror — That was his face.

No, it was the face of the primordial, the original, the very first high elder. He smiled bitterly and covered his face with his palm, as if ascertaining whether he could tear off this mask and return it to its true owner.

He could not.

他夢見自己抵達戰場，如神明親臨。懸於雲端，軍陣似螻蟻般渺小，雲車和星槎如註定要赴火的飛螢。這就是凡人的生命…這就是龍的視角嗎？一絲驕慢湧起，令他心意冰冷。他忙將目光投向那些與他一同廝殺、一同歡飲的人們：

疾馳而過的飛行士絲毫不在意隊列齊整，隨興射擊，任由裝填熾火的弩箭落在奔突的步離甲士間；

在星槎所指的方向上，有位白髮劍士當先一人，隨鋒刃舞蹈，在劍光中穿梭，其鋒芒太盛，連她的同僚也不敢與之同列，只是殿後策援；

平日與他談笑的那位雲騎驍衛則收起一身閒散，手持陣刀，與所部軍士們抵抗著側翼襲來的步離戰卒；

本陣後方，隨軍的匠作們調試著巨大的金人，也許那名狷狂的匠人此刻正揮汗如雨——這些數十米高的軍械是應對器獸的殺手鐧；

隨後他瞧見了彼時的將軍騰驍，他如同帝弓的化身籠罩在金色雷霆中，與自己的幻影犁過敵人的戰獸軍陣……

潰不成軍的步離人開始逃竄。他明白，該是執行自己被交付的使命了。他放任心智消融於風暴和冰雹里，由雷霆代他咆哮，由海嘯替他憤怒。他懸於雲端，看著被淵藪吞沒的敵人，也看著身後的土地，許多人類、持明與狐族，他們永遠留在戰場上，無法再看一眼故鄉。

龍心告訴他，那不過是世上又拂去了些許微塵。戰爭伴隨代價，生命終會再生——龍裔也絕非僅有持明一支。但人心悸痛著，為那些與他戰友一樣，有著溫暖血肉的同袍，為那些也許能活更久，如今卻無法再返其鄉的凡人而疼痛。  

Character Story: Part II

• Unlocked at Character Level 40

In the dim abyss devoid of light, he seemed to have returned to the insides of a Vidyadhara egg, being ceaselessly churned in tumultuous waves and elusive dreams.

He dreamed he arrived at the battlefield like the descent of a god. He hovered with the clouds — the military formations below him were tiny as ants, and the airborne chariots and starskiffs were moths destined to die in a flame. Such were the lives of mortals... Was this the viewpoint of a dragon? A sliver of hubris rose up and plunged his heart into emotionless and icy detachment, and he hurriedly cast his gaze toward those with whom he had fought and shared liquor:

The pilot who zoomed past did not care whether the formation was orderly. She shot at will, letting the arrows filled with blazing fire fall on the storming borisin foot soldiers...

Along the direction pointed out by the starskiffs, a white-haired swordswoman spearheaded into the fray ahead of the entire army, dancing with her sharp blade. She dashed between flashes of metallic light, her actions too sharp to even let her allies come near, reducing them to merely supporting her from behind...

On the other hand, the Cloud Knight Lieutenant who used to chat and laugh with the dragon contained his languid indolence, holding his devastator glaive in hand as he stood with his men to repel the borisin pawns attacking from the battlefield's wings...

And behind the main host, the military engineers who marched with the army were adjusting and testing giant aurumatons... perhaps that exceedingly arrogant craftsman was now working at full speed, for these machines hundreds of feet tall are specialized weapons designed to counter the mechabeasts...

Then, he saw the general of yesteryear, Teng Xiao. He was enveloped in golden lightning like the avatar of the Reignbow, plowing through the enemies' rows of war beasts with his divine mirage...

The devastated borisins began to flee. He knew it was time to carry out the duty entrusted to him. So he let go — letting his consciousness disappear in storms and hails, letting thunder roar for him, letting tsunamis rage for him. He floated on top of clouds, watching the enemies getting swallowed by the watery abyss, and watching the land behind him. Many humans, Vidyadhara, and foxians were eternally left there, unable to lay their eyes upon their home ever again.

The dragon heart told him that it was but a small speck of dust brushed away from the world. Wars come with a price, but life will always thrive once more — the Vidyadhara are not the only branch of Long's Scions. However, his human heart ached for those comrades who, like him, had warm flesh and blood, and for those mortals who might have lived longer but now could return home nevermore.

無光的幽暗中，他仿佛回到持明卵中，在波濤與幻夢裡輾轉來去。

他夢見自己分開海水，來到宮墟深處，埋葬故友殘存的碧血，或是創造許久未誕的新生——又或者這兩件事本是一體，是久久無法實踐的渴望，是壓垮巨龍的最後一根稻草。匠人持劍一路護衛，血痕累累。他敦促自己下定決心。

「倏忽死了…我們贏了，可還能再贏幾次？我們還要付出多少像這樣的代價？」
「看看這建木，它依然還活著。只要建木矗立，怪物們…它們可以一遍遍捲土重來。仙舟人、狐人和持明對抗孽物的戰爭，永遠不會結束。」
「是啊，我們每個人都沒什麼特別的！我們每個人都只有一次生命，為這個犧牲，為那個去死…這全都是我們自己的選擇。就像她選擇了救你和鏡流…就像她選擇了讓更多人活下去！」

戰爭，還有那些在戰爭中消失的生命，每個都和自己一樣，是呼吸著的人。
他想起那些人的臉龐，疲倦地合上了眼，下定決心。
「如果有機會…我們也會選擇讓她，還有更多人活下去。
——持明有自己的解救之道。我可以試試。」

夢中之夢，身外化身。他回到了自我即將消逝的前一刻，冷眼旁觀看著自己化為龍形，與那團無定變化的血肉之影糾纏角斗。瀕死的幻覺中，神使向他展現了詭麗的圖景，星辰像血紅細胞般翕張著吟唱，宇宙墮入肉與欲望的淵藪。龍心努力搏動，奮起爪牙、吐息和憤怒——可無論如何強大，生命也不能對抗生命之神的使者本尊。

直到一艘星槎如箭矢刺穿了一切，他看到那個女孩從廢墟中艱難爬出，手中高舉著一輪絕對黑暗的「太陽」。在那快如永恆的瞬息里，他看著她的手消逝，看著她的面容消逝，他看著她消逝——那物什將周遭的一切碎為最細膩的齏粉，捲入力量的風暴里，連同女孩自己。

一縷碎發和幾滴血落地。證明她存在過的痕跡，只剩這些了。  

Character Story: Part III

• Unlocked at Character Level 60

In the dim abyss devoid of light, he seemed to have returned to the insides of a Vidyadhara egg, being ceaselessly churned in tumultuous waves and elusive dreams.

He dreamed that he parted the ocean's waters and came to the palace ruin depths, burying the remnants of his old friend's hallowed blood, or creating a new life that had not been seen for millennia — or, perhaps, those two actions were one and the same, an unattainable desire that could not be carried out for long years in the past, a final straw that broke the gargantuan dragon's back. The craftsman was covered in blood and wounds as he guarded the dragon with a sword in his hand. He urged himself to commit to the decision.

"Shuhu is dead... we won, but how many more victories can we manage to achieve? How many more prices like this must we pay?"
"Look, the Ambrosial Arbor still stands. So long as it is alive, the monsters... they can come back again and again. The war of the Xianzhou natives, foxians, and Vidyadhara against the abominations will never end."
"Yes, none of us are special! Each of us has only one life, sacrificing for this, dying for that... it's all our own choices. Just like how she chose to save you and Jingliu... just like how she chose to let more people live on!"

War, and the lives that expired in the war, were living beings just like him.
He shut his eyes wearily, remembering their faces, and made up his mind.
"If there's a chance... we will also choose to let her and more people live on.
We, the Vidyadhara, have our own way of salvation. I can give it a try."

Like an out-of-body experience, like a dream within a dream, he returned to the moment before his sense of self disappeared. With a cold and emotionless mind, he observed himself turning into a dragon, entangled and fighting claw-and-fangs against that bulb of shapeshifting shadow of flesh and blood. In an illusion seen on the verge of death, the emissary of the god showed him an unsettling, beautiful scene — the stars pulsated and sang hymns like red blood cells, and the universe descended into an abyss of flesh and desires. The dragon heart beat to its limit, raising its fangs, breath, and fury — however, no matter how mighty it was, a "lifeform" cannot defy the true body of god of life's envoy.

...Until a starskiff ran everything through like an arrow shaft. He saw that girl crawling out of the ruins with great difficulty, lifting a "sun" of absolute darkness in her hand. In that fleeting eternity, he saw her hand disappear, saw her face disappear, and saw HER disappear — That item had ground everything around it into the finest dust and dragged them into a vortex of raw power, including that girl.

A tuft of hair and a few drops of blood fell to the floor as evidence of her existence. Those were the only traces she left.

無光的幽暗中，他仿佛回到持明卵中，在波濤與幻夢裡輾轉來去。

他夢見鎖龍針釘入身軀，珊瑚金造就的鎖鏈重重捆縛，將他懸吊在幽囚獄裡。他夢見長老們來了又去，詢問他妙法的真相和龍心的所在。他沉默不語。

他夢見幽府的判官們來到他面前宣讀判詞，要判他大辟入滅。他沉默不語。

他夢見白髮的雲騎驍衛前來看望他，為他帶來斡旋的結果。持明們不許他死去，也不許他離去。他沉默不語。

他夢見再度與他們舉杯共飲，他夢見自己褪去龍鱗，他夢見自己重回卵中，成了另一個人。

他夢見了許多許多，就像一場永遠不會結束，名為「自我」的幻戲。

幻戲之後，是更清晰卻不可及的虛像。

他看見自己被放逐，他看見自己登上一輛列車，他看見自己奔向遙遠的星空，再不回頭。  

Character Story: Part IV

• Unlocked at Character Level 80

In the dim abyss devoid of light, he seemed to have returned to the insides of a Vidyadhara egg, being ceaselessly churned in tumultuous waves and elusive dreams.

He dreamed of the Dracocatena Nails being staked into his body, and chains of corallium winding around him to hang him in midair in the Shackling Prison. He dreamed the elders coming and going to interrogate him about the truth of the Arcanum and the whereabouts of the dragon heart. He did not speak.

He dreamed of the Judges coming before him to read their decision and wanting to sentence him to death. He did not speak.

He dreamed of the white-haired Cloud Knight Lieutenant coming to visit him and bringing him news of the Lieutenant's negotiations. The Vidyadhara did not permit him to die, nor did they permit him to leave. He did not speak.

He dreamed he was raising his cup to drink with the others again, that he molted off his scales, and that he returned to the egg, and became someone else.

He dreamed many, many things, like a never-ending immersia entitled "Self."

Following the immersia was an even clearer but unreachable illusion.

He saw himself being exiled. He saw himself boarding an express. He saw himself running into the endless stars, never looking back.

傳奇「雲上五驍」之一，人送尊號「無罅飛光」。
超脫了人間的勝負，為了獲得斬殺「神」的力量，她選擇走上截然不同的道路。
至此之後，仙舟的記錄中少了一個羅浮「劍首」，多了一個名字被抹去的「叛徒」。

Former Sword Champion of the Luofu, and the reason behind the Cloud Knights' mythical reputation of implacable might.

戎裝女子一手輕招，劍如有靈，自武備架上骨碌跳起，入掌出鞘，貫入女孩身側，嗡鳴不休。
「學會了嗎？會了的話，就以步離人陸戰最常用的戰獸為敵，殺夠十隻血眼睚眥，這第一課就算結束。」
她沉默不語，只是左顧右盼。這是被救以來，她第一次離開病房，也是她此生第一次摸到名為劍的武器。
「我已屏退了醫士和醫助，沒我的命令，他們不會來找你的。」
「蒼城罹難，活下來的人本就不多。我不知你在救援抵達前到底經歷了些什麼…但我不想看你就這樣一輩子溺死在過去的恐懼里。」
「你不開口沒關係，你可以用它說話。」
「你可以用它，讓那些奪走我們一切的怪物徹底消失。似這般美好的東西，世上已不多了。」
戎裝女子眉目不動，將視線投向女孩身側的長劍。

如鏡的劍刃讓她照見自己的模樣，無數鋒利傷人的碎片風暴般捲起，將女孩拖入過去——
幽暗的深空中，名喚羅睺的妖星悲鳴著，歌唱著，挾著燃燒的山脈與大地向所有人撲面而來。
長街上人們尖叫，在末日滅頂的絕望中掙扎、翻滾，任由金色的枝蔓在每個人的口鼻孔竅中滋長不休。
她看著一切發生，動彈不得。五內如沸，有一物自她的丹腑中勃然翻滾，仿佛熟透的穀粒即將脫殼掙出，膨脹至無限。
但迎面而來的山脈卻讓她明白，自己不過是蜉蝣，即將死於神使指尖的輕捻。

即將溺死的片刻，她抓住了身邊唯一的浮草。

Character Story: Part I

• Unlocked at Character Level 20

A sword, 3 feet and 7 inches in length, that weighs nothing.
It was not forged from any ordinary iron, but condensed from a shaft of sharp ice. It glowed with a dim light, as if it were a sliver of moonlight held in the wielder's hand.

"A sword, 3 feet and 7 inches in length, weighing about 7 catties. Hold it in your hand, and stab the sharp end towards the enemy."
With a gentle flip of her hand, the woman in armor called her sword. As if alive, the sword lept out of the weapon rack, sliding into her grasp and out of its sheath in one fell swoop. The blade then stabbed into the air beside the girl, humming intently.
"You got that yet? If so, go fight the most common war beasts the borisin use in their ground forces. Once you've killed ten Bloodshot War Wyverns, I'll consider your first lesson completed."
She remained silent, her eyes darting left and right. This was her first time stepping out of the ward since being rescued, and the first time ever in her life she had touched a weapon known as a sword.
"I have dismissed the healers and helpers. They won't come to you without my orders."
"The calamity in Cangcheng left few survivors. I don't know what you've been through before the rescue arrived... But I don't want to see you wallow in past horrors like this for the rest of your life."
"It's okay if you don't wanna talk. You can speak with this."
"You can use this to vanquish the monsters that took everything from us. There are now few things as wondrous as this left in the world."
The woman in armor remained composed, her gaze cast onto the long sword by the girl's side.

The mirror-like blade showed her reflection. Then, a swarm of razor shards swirled up in a tempest, dragging the girl into her past —
In the dimly lit sky, the demonic planet named Rahu was wailing and singing, hurling towards everyone with lands and mountains ablaze.
On the streets, people were screaming, writhing and rolling in apocalyptic despair, as the golden tendrils sprouted and grew feverishly in every orifice of theirs.
She watched everything unfold, paralyzed. Her organs felt like they were boiling. Something suddenly surged and churned in her Core Esse, like a ripe wheat grain about to burst out of its husk and swell to infinity.
The mountains hurling towards her face made her realize, she was but a mayfly, about to perish at the mere flick of an Emanator's fingertip.

In that split moment before death claimed her, she grabbed the only thread she could hang by.
A sword, 3 feet and 7 inches in length, weighing about 7 catties.

劍，長六尺五寸，重十四斤。
此乃雲騎重劍形制，需雙手握持揮舞。鋒刃蘊藏離火，在接敵瞬間足以切開器獸的惰性外甲。
另有佐戰援護的飛劍十二把，接入自「大椎」至「陽關」一線穴道，應使由心，一瞬間施展開來，如驚風疾雨。
她對劍術還不甚了解。她還有很多要學。

戎裝女子來不及教她更多，就要率軍出征。於是少女的第二課便在戰場上學，由那些倒下的敵人教。
「刺」固然簡單明了，但動作靈敏的怪物不會自覺迎上劍尖，任由少女處決。於是她學會了「斬」。
接著是「纏」，在力量驚人的怪物面前，少女懂得了以劍脊卸去攻擊。
對劍術，她自認已心融神會，於是跳上了身高十倍於己的器獸戰卒「龍伯」。
折斷所有隨身攜帶的劍，也不過在對手巨碩的身軀上留下成打成打的傷口。
她被巨掌拍飛，躺在戰場的血泥里，再度被恐懼淹沒。在溺死的關頭，她才明白，劍術亦有極限。
一支裝填熾火的弩矢炸去了龍伯的頭顱。「起來。」戎裝女子看著她。

「我不學劍了。這東西…沒用。」
「沒用？在我手裡倒是好用的很。說到底，是人無用罷了。」
「……」
「不學劍，那你想學什麼？飛行士星槎上的鍊石箭，神臂直配備的熾火弩？還是…朱明仙舟的朱明火？要消滅那顆妖星，有它也盡夠了。你想學那些？沒毛病，那些東西連照面都不用打，便能殺死對手。」
「…我只是不明白，你為何一定要我學劍！？」
「上至將軍下至兵卒，每個雲騎都要從出劍開始學起。
「工造司的各色軍械確實能代你殺滅敵人，但那些都是兵器自行運作罷了。如果有那麼一天，箭矢耗盡、星槎墜落、金人停轉，誰來保護你我，誰來保護仙舟？
「握住這柄劍，給我牢牢記著，只有雲騎親自掌劍上陣，才是人類自己的戰鬥。我們用自己的血肉、自己的技藝向那些非人的孽物們證明，我們必將戰勝它們，而不是讓機巧代我們行事！」

Character Story: Part II

• Unlocked at Character Level 40

A sword, 6 feet and 5 inches in length, weighing 14 catties.
This is a Cloud Knight greatsword that must be wielded with both hands. Its edge contains enchanted fire that can split open the mechabeast's inert armor at the moment of contact.
There are 12 Flying Swords providing support, connected into her spinal meridian from the acupuncture points of Dazhui to Yaoyangguan. She needed only to think for these swords to instantly span out like a blistering storm.
She was still unfamiliar with the way of the sword. She still had lots to learn.

The woman in armor had no time to teach her more before the woman was tasked with leading the army on the field. Therefore, the girl's second lesson is to be learned on the battlefield, taught by the enemies she would fall.
"Stab" is easy, but swift monsters won't run into the sword's tip on their own or let the girl execute them. That is how she learned "slash."
"Entangle" is next. Against monsters with overwhelming strength, the girl learned how to parry with the back of the sword to deflect enemy attacks.
She believed she had learned enough of the sword and therefore leapt onto the mechabeast war pawn "Gigantes" that dwarfed her at least ten times over.
She broke all the swords she brought with her and only managed to leave a few dozen cuts on the opponent's gigantic body.
She was whacked away by an enormous hand. Lying in the blood-soaked mud of the battlefield, she was once again swallowed by horror. In that split moment before death claimed her, she finally understood that even the art of swordplay had its limits.
An arrow filled with blazing fire blew off the Gigantes' head. "Get up." The woman in armor looked at her.

"I don't want to learn the sword anymore. It's... useless."
"Useless? It's pretty useful in my hands. It is the wielder who was useless."
"..."
"If you don't learn the sword, what do you want to learn? The alchemical arrows on the pilots' starskiff? The blazing fire flung by divine crossbows? Or... The artillery of the Zhuming Xianzhou? Such instruments would also be enough to destroy that demonic planet. You want to learn about them? Fine. Those things can kill the enemy even from beyond visual range."
"...I just don't understand why you insist on teaching me the sword!?"
"From the general to the smallest pawn, every Cloud Knight starts by learning the sword.

The woman in armor turned and departed, leaving the girl and the broken sword in the training room.
A sword, 2 feet and 1 inch in length, only its broken fragments remained.
