表示「在……內部」，英語解釋in the inner part or parts of; inside

1. 時間上的區別

Within 強調「在某個時間段內」完成或發生，通常指不超過某個期限。

✅ I will finish the report within three days. （我將在三天內完成報告。）→ 不超過三天

❌ I will finish the report in three days. （我將在三天後完成報告。）→ 三天之後

In 可以表示「在……之後」（未來時間），或者「在……期間」（較長的時間段）。

✅ She will arrive in an hour. （她一小時後到。）→ 一小時後

✅ Many changes happened in the 20th century. （20世紀發生了許多變化。）→ 在某個時間段內

2. 空間上的區別

Within 強調「在某個範圍或界限之內」，通常指內部、不超出。

✅ The keys are within the box. （鑰匙在盒子裡面。）→ 強調內部

✅ The school is within walking distance. （學校在步行可達的範圍內。）→ 不超出某個範圍

In 泛指「在某個空間內」，但不一定強調界限。

✅ She is in her room. （她在房間裡。）→ 單純表示位置

✅ There』s a cat in the garden. （花園裡有隻貓。）→ 不強調範圍限制

3. 抽象概念的區別

Within 可以表示「在能力、權限、規則等內部範圍」。

✅ It』s within his power to change the policy. （改變政策在他的權限範圍內。）

❌ It』s in his power... （較少用，可能表達不同意思）

In 可以表示「在某種狀態或情況中」。

✅ He is in trouble. （他遇到麻煩了。）

❌ He is within trouble. （錯誤用法）
