Your "Happy Place": If you have 30 minutes of free time, what is the first thing you usually do to feel happy and relaxed?

Though half an hour isn't enough to do something meaningful, it's okay to have senseless entrainment! Like playing games, streaming, and even binge-reading! It simply works if it can give you a sense of relief, or escape from the heavy works for now!

Welp, but it's just because I seldom have free time now... So a little slack-off time makes me happier. What if I have lots of time to schedule on my own one day? Will they still work?

If I were at school when given this 30 minutes I would spend them on English, such memorizing several new words and reading a novel(Wade through, exactly). I rejoice in time that I indulge myself in English so it may be my Happy Place during my school life, now(The last one might be OI, I.e. Information Contest, which I have quited). However, I always slip in English. And I am always bad at listening and speaking. As for writing, what I consider extremely good often turns out a bad sentence or paragraph. They deem them unnatural or senseless. But I'mI just unable to think in a right way and write a satisfactory one.

回复 @lizhenxuan:sounds like killing time. I have no games on my phone (because it's quite easily to be addicted.) Streaming is so dull and... reading is good but it's quite like an obligation...

回复 @lizhenxuan:Maybe AI can be helpful. Write down and then letting AI check and rewrite / correct them.
Then [quited]→[quitted] |

回复 @lizhenxuan:And as for listening and speaking... you can try saying after the recording is over. When I was practicing Japanese listening, I played these recordings when I took a walk after a meal.

回复 @啊啊是谁都对:I have been trying using AI to correct and polish my writing but I am stuck in school at weekdays, making this out of reach, as phones are forbidden in a high school. And I am too lazy to write more things. So it's partly my fault.

回复 @啊啊是谁都对:As far as I know, it's not vocabulary that counts most in College Entry Exam because the key but unknown words are usually explained in Chinese and thereby we can understand the text roughly. Neither is speaking, which isn't examined in the Exam at all.
I suppose I may put them aside for now and pick them up now after College Entry Exam? And, may I ask how the college students learn English? Is there any class, or only learn by themselves? |
