ferment

sanguinary 

Definition:  (adjective) Accompanied by bloodshed.

overabundance 

Definition:  (noun) A going or being beyond what is needed, desired, or appropriate.  
Synonyms:  overmuch, overmuchness, superabundance  
Usage:  Four-year-olds have an overabundance of energy and quickly exhaust even the most active, fit adults. Discuss.  

unexampled 

Definition:  (adjective) Without precedent; unparalleled.

Usage:  It was a time of unexampled prosperity, and the once poor family was able to move to a lovely mansion in an affluent neighborhood.  

hypnotic 

Definition:  (adjective) Attracting and holding interest as if by a spell.

Usage:  For a moment she tore her gaze from the hypnotic fascination of that awful face and breathed a last prayer to her God.  

pestilential 

Definition:  (adjective) Likely to spread and cause an epidemic disease.

uninitiated

whimsy 

Definition:  (noun) The trait of acting unpredictably and more from whim or caprice than from reason or judgment.

cogitation

cagey 

Definition:  (adjective) Showing self-interest and shrewdness in dealing with others.

feeder 

Definition:  (noun) A branch that flows into the main stream.  
Synonyms:  confluent, tributary, affluent  
Usage:  This stream in which he stood was a feeder to the Coppermine River, which in turn flowed north and emptied into Coronation Gulf and the Arctic Ocean. Discuss.  

paucity 

Definition:  (noun) Smallness of number; fewness.

scrub
