fretful 

Definition:  (adjective) Habitually complaining.  
Synonyms:  querulous, whiny  
Usage:  She had never spoken a word to her sister-in-law for three days; but she had likewise dropped her fretful complaining, and we found it a great comfort. Discuss.  

swarm
