近期的一系列事件让我失望。

同样是中文网站，不同地方的评论素质差了不知多少个数量级。
有的地方评论都相当理性，有的地方却只有打着爱国旗号却对同胞冷酷无情的流氓。

"A series of recent events"refer to :
1. Some students doubt the so-called heros on scientific grounds, and were severely criticised by some media.
2. A famous TV host was severely punished just because he made fun of the so-called heros.

Whom does "the so-called heroes" refer to? Please be more concrete.

Those can be found everywhere in primary school textbooks of prc, like "yellow continue light"
