Introduction:

Hello everyone! Let's talk about friends.

In our lives, we have different kinds of people. Some are our close friends. They know our secrets, support us when we are sad, and feel like family. They are our deep roots, making us feel safe and grounded.

Then, we have many friends and acquaintances. We might meet them at school, work, or online. We chat about hobbies, news, or daily life. They are like wings, showing us new ideas and opportunities, making life fun and exciting.

So, which one is more important to you? Is it better to have a few, very strong roots? Or is it better to have many wings to fly with? There is no right or wrong answer. We want to hear your story and your thoughts!

Subquestions to Keep the Discussion Going:

For Everyone:

1.  What does a "close friend" mean to you? What makes them different from other friends?

2.  Can a "wide circle of friends" sometimes become a burden? Why or why not?

3.  How do you find time for your friends? Is it easier to find time for a few close friends or for many friends?

For Students (Thinking about school life):

4.  In school, is it sometimes easier to have a big group of friends? For example, for group projects or school activities?

5.  Have you ever felt pressure to be friends with everyone in your class? Why?

For University Students & Graduates (Thinking about change and the future):

6.  When you move to a new school or city, which type of friendship is more helpful at first: a few deep ones or a wide circle? Why?

7.  How do you make new "close friends" after finishing school?

For Working Members (Thinking about career and social networks):

8.  In the workplace, which kind of friendship is more useful for your job? Why?

9.  Can your coworkers become your close friends? What are the good sides and the possible problems?

Looking to the Future:

10. Imagine your life in 10 years. Which type of friendship do you think will be more important to you then? Why?

Final Fun Question:

11. If you could only choose one for the rest of your life, which would you pick: one very best friend who understands you completely, or a different friendly person to talk to every day?

1.  What does a "close friend" mean to you? What makes them different from other friends?

A close friend, I think, is one I can tell my secret and worries to.

2.  Can a "wide circle of friends" sometimes become a burden? Why or why not?

Definitely. Sometimes they will trouble me and leave me no time to stay alone.

3.  How do you find time for your friends? Is it easier to find time for a few close friends or for many friends?

Holiday, and breaks in school.

Yes. The other day I hoped to refuse a classmate's request but I could't because I thought it may harm him, but I really wanted to say no.

The former. I think understanding counts more.

I agree with the floor above.

Perhaps for I stay at school it has never been a problem.  I can always choose to be with friends whenever I don't study.  But it's more difficult to assemble many friends cos I am a I-person,  that's to say,  I am not good at gathering my friends. I don't like stay with too many friends for it makes me awkward and know nothing about what to say.

5. Have you ever felt pressure to be friends with everyone in your class? Why?

Yes.  It's a problem I am being faced with.  I think I ignore my own needs and feelongs only to cater to others,  making me terrible and regrettable.  What's more,  there are several classmates I really don't want to befriend.

The first one.  As I can talk to AI who is able to talk with me every day, the latter kind of friends has be. possessed by me. So only the first one is needed.(Just a Joke,  don't take it seriously)

I don' think schools are a good place to get friends, because in these places we cannot choose people around us
