American English isn't authentic!

最純正的英語是英國英語，美國英語是在英國英語的基礎上演化、發展而來的。但在近代，尤其是二戰以後，美國勢力上升，隨之美國英語也逐漸流行起來，大有超過英國英語之逝。舉個例子：一英國人和一美國人在等電梯，電梯來了之後，英國人禮貌的說：「The lift comes.」而美國人則傲慢的說：「What? Do you mean the elevator?」英國人不滿說：「No, I mean the LIFT.」美國人不屑地說：「I know what it is. It's an ELEVATOR, for it's invented in America.」英國人譏諷道：「Sure I know it's a LIFT, for English is invented in Britain.」美國人聽候無言以對。

However, plenty of people in China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan study American English only.
