在醫療資源匱乏的下層區，娜塔莎作為為數不多的醫生照料着地下的男女老幼。
即使是最調皮的虎克，見了她也要乖乖喊一聲「娜塔莎姐姐」。

A fastidious doctor who always wears an enigmatic smile.
In the Underworld where medical resources are scarce, Natasha is one of the very few doctors whom the people can turn to.
Even the rambunctious Hook would politely greet her... "Hi, big sis Natasha."

「快，摁住這裏！用力摁，止住出血！」

娜塔莎向哥哥投去慌張的眼神。在她身前躺着一個全身纏滿繃帶的男子，他的軀幹因巨大的痛楚而扭曲、抽動着，口中不斷冒出模糊不清的話語。

「…在磨蹭什麼？快點，摁住！」

哥哥的命令中夾帶着憤怒，以及——敏銳的女孩捕捉到了這點——微微一絲失望。娜塔莎慌忙抓住男子的右臂，用盡全身力氣按壓平敷在他肩部的止血棉。

從受傷的男人口中迸出撕心裂肺的呻吟，但在得到哥哥的指示之前，她絕對不能放鬆。

不知過了多久之後，眼前的傷員停止了呼吸，她呆滯地望着眼前流空了生命的軀殼。

「你盡力了，」哥哥說，語氣恢復了往常的淡漠，「小歇一會兒吧，還有傷員在等着。」

她翻過紅色的手掌，手指已經僵硬，血污的腥氣撲鼻而來。娜塔莎任憑那氣味攪動自己的肺腑——要踏上這條路，她知道自己能做的惟有習慣。  

Character Story: Part I

• Unlocked at Character Level 20

"Quick, press down here! Press down hard to staunch the bleeding!"

Natasha shoots a panicked look at her brother. Before her lay a man covered in bandages from head to toe, his torso twitching and twisting with severe pain as he muttered nonsense.

"What are you waiting for?! Quick, hold it down!"

There is anger in her brother's order and — she is sharp enough to tell — a hint of disappointment. Natasha hurries to hold onto the man's right arm, and musters all her strength to press down the cotton gauze onto his shoulder.

The man lets out a heart-wrenching moan, but she can't stop until her brother orders her to.

After who knows how long, the patient before her stops breathing, and she stares blankly at the lifeless body.

"You did your best," her brother says. His voice returning to its usual impassive tone. "Get some rest real quick. Some of them are still waiting to be patched up."

She turns over the man's red palm. His fingers are already stiff as the stench of blood fills the air. Natasha allows the smell to rile up her emotions — she know she must get used to this if she were to continue down this road.

「出色…一如既往地出色，」教授來回翻看着眼前的紙頁，自言自語似地說着，「以你的成績和臨床表現…不管是去醫院還是部隊都絕對出類拔萃。」

娜塔莎心中一緊，十指不自覺地蜷了起來。教授察覺到了她的肢體語言。

「怎麼了，孩子？你想說什麼嗎？」

娜塔莎整理了一下表情——她希望能用充滿自信的神態傳達自己的決定。

「我想回下層去，教授。我在那裏能幫上更多的人。」

年長的女性愣住片刻，緩緩扶了一下眼鏡。接着，她低下了頭，開始繼續閱讀手上的資料。

「原來如此，和令母說的一樣…祝你成功，娜塔莎。」

娜塔莎站起身來，鄭重地鞠了一躬。她最後一次走過貝洛伯格醫學院那條潔白的走廊，內心無比堅定。  

Character Story: Part II

• Unlocked at Character Level 40

"Excellent... excellent as always," the professor says to herself as she flips through the notes, "With your grades and clinical performance... You'll be an outstanding candidate whether you're in the hospital or in the armed forces."

Natasha's pulse races, and her fingers subconsciously clench up. The professor notices her body language.

"What's the matter, child? Have you got something to say?"

Natasha composes herself — she wants to convey her decision with confidence and conviction.

"I want to go back to the Underworld, Professor. I know I can help more people down there."

The old woman is stunned for a brief moment, before slowly pushing her glasses upwards. Then, she lowers her head and continues on reading the file she is holding.

"I see. That's exactly what your mother said... I wish you all the best then, Natasha."

Natasha stands up and solemnly bows. As she walks through that white corridor at Belobog Medical Academy for the last time, her heart is filled with determination.

致親愛的爸爸媽媽：

近來可好？

請原諒我許久未能回信。下層區最近亂象頻出，孤兒院內的傷員人滿為患，我幾乎抽不出空做任何療傷救人之外的事。我不得不將年紀較小些的孩子送到鎮上的寄養家庭，因為我不想讓他們目睹孤兒院內的慘象。

關於你們之前的提問——我的確聽到了風聲，據說大守護者即將發佈上下層區的封鎖令。我理解二位心中的擔憂，但從我的角度出發，我絕對不能在這個時刻拋棄下層區的民眾。在這個人心惶惶的特殊時期，我只希望能用自己綿薄的力量給人們帶去慰藉。

萬幸，我知道你們一定會尊重我的選擇。還記得我剛從學院畢業時，爸爸曾說過：「如果一個人走上從醫的道路，目的只是為了獲得一份體面的工作——那他遲早會後悔自己的選擇。」我想我現在比過去任何時候都更能理解這句話的含義。

Character Story: Part III

• Unlocked at Character Level 60

Dearest mother and father,

How have you been?

Please forgive me for replying so late. There's been lots of trouble in the Underworld, and the orphanage is overcrowded with the injured, so I haven't had time to do anything apart from treating the wounded. I even had to send some of the younger children to foster families in town, because I didn't want them to see the carnage inside the orphanage.

As for your previous question — yes, I've heard rumors about the Supreme Guardian about to order a blockade between the Over- and Underworlds. I understand your concerns, but from my point of view, there is no way I can abandon the people down here right now. During this extraordinary state of panic, I can only hope to use my modest skills to bring a modicum of comfort to the needy.

Fortunately, I know you'll respect my decision. I still remember when I was fresh out of college and Dad told me, "Anyone going into medicine to just get a decent job will come to regret their decision sooner or later." I think I understand more than ever what you meant back then.

I don't know when we'll ever be able to see each other again, but I hope you can be healthy and happy. Your daughter is a big girl now, and can take care of herself, so you don't have to worry about me.

躺在病床上的男人膚色黝黑，年齡大約在五十歲上下。他的肌肉線條如雕塑般硬朗分明，但如今卻被累累傷疤和血痕覆蓋。他沉悶地喘着粗氣，胸膛劇烈地起伏着——他正處在生死的邊緣。

娜塔莎的目光迅速地在傷者的身上移動，尋找着可能奪走他最後一息的致命傷。她很快就定位到了他左邊小腹處的一處傷口：那道傷口面積不大，但卻一直源源不斷地向外涌着血流，很可能是被某種尖銳的利器傷及了內臟。

她戴上一幅全新的醫用手套，然後從身邊的滾筒上扯下一大卷繃帶。她熟練地將繃帶纏在傷員的腰腹上、用力裹緊，接着開始按壓不斷失血的部位。暗紅的顏色在繃帶的表面淤散開來，但娜塔莎維持着穩定的按壓頻率，沒有表現出絲毫慌亂。

一段時間過後，男人的呼吸不再急促，臉上緊繃的神情也逐漸舒緩。娜塔莎知道傷者已經脫離了生命危險，陷入了夢鄉。

她緩緩取下了手套，倚着診所的窗戶下沿稍作歇息。

「可別死了啊，奧列格……」

她望着病床，低聲自語。

「…還有太多的使命等着我們去完成。」  

Character Story: Part IV

• Unlocked at Character Level 80

The man lying on the hospital bed is tanned and about fifty years old. His muscles are chiseled like a sculpture, but are now covered in layers of scars and bloody stains. He is breathing heavily, his chest heaving violently — he is right at death's door.

Natasha's eyes move quickly over to the patient, searching for anything fatal that could rob him of his life. She soon locates a wound on his lower left abdomen. Although it isn't large, the bleeding is constant and it's likely that his internal organs had been injured by some kind of sharp weapon.

She put on a new pair of gloves and tears a large piece of bandage off the roll. She skillfully and tightly wraps it tightly around the patient's waist, pressing down on the area that is bleeding. A dark red spreads through the surface of the bandage, but Natasha maintains her pressure without betraying the slightest hint of panic.

After a short while, the man's breathing is no longer rapid and the tense expression on his face eases. Natasha knows he is out of danger and has safely fallen asleep.

She slowly takes off her gloves and leans against the clinic's window sill in a brief repose.

"Please don't die, Oleg..."

She whispers to herself as she gazes at the bed.

"...There're still a lot of duties we need to complete."

白露

角色詳情
性格活潑的小女孩，持明族的「銜藥龍女」，藥到病除的名醫。
經常開出不拘一格的藥方，如「多喝熱水」、「睡一覺就好了」。
見不得人受苦，治病時總是閉着眼睛。
——總之病好了就行！  

Character Details

A vivacious young lady of the Vidyadhara race, she is known as the "Healer Lady" due to her expertise with medicine.
She often dishes out unorthodox prescriptions such as "Stay well hydrated" and "Get a good night's rest."
Bailu cannot bear to see people suffer, and that's why you'll see her with her eyes shut tightly as she cures ailments.
"As long as they're cured, that's all that matters, right?"

「丹鼎司醫案治驗總要•卷四十八•例一千二百四十六

主治醫師：白露。

患者：月追（狐人），女，六十二歲。

主訴：誤食化外民販售的巧克力糖丸，口渴引飲，渾身酸痛，腹部尤甚，呼吸急促，尾巴毛脫落如絮。

辯證：食物中毒。

處方：苦參1錢，生甘草1錢1分，五穀玉液1瓶，《飲食禁忌常識須知》1本。

用法：將苦參及生甘草用五穀玉液煎熬至半，過濾去渣，隨量任意飲用至嘔吐為止；《飲食禁忌常識須知》抄寫五百遍，做到熟記於心。

按語：典型食物中毒，臟器輕微病變已憑龍殼治癒，按方服藥催吐、排出餘下有毒物質即可。另外，就算是肉體強健的長生種，狐人不能吃巧克力是常識！！！

還有，這等小毛小病就不要讓病人等這麼久，直接叫醒我就好了！另外再來些疑難雜症啊，你們要白白浪費本小姐的本事嗎？」  

Character Story: Part I

• Unlocked at Character Level 20

"Alchemy Commission Collected Treatment Histories: Volume Forty-Eight, Case Study 1246

Presiding Physician: Bailu.

Patient: Yuezhui, female foxian, aged sixty-two.

Complaint: Accidentally ate a chocolate drop sold by an Outworlder trader. Experienced extreme thirst leading to excess drinking, aching all over, particularly in the stomach, shortness of breath, and loss of big clumps of tail hair.

Diagnosis: Food poisoning.

Prescription: Bitter ginseng, 1 mace. Raw licorice, 1 mace and 1 candareen. Five-grain jade elixir, 1 bottle. Things You Should Know About Forbidden Foods, 1 copy.

Usage: Boil bitter ginseng and licorice in the five-grain jade elixir until reduced to half volume, strain to remove dregs, drink as much as you like until you vomit. Copy out the pamphlet Things You Should Know About Forbidden Foods five hundred times until it's stuck in your head.

Remarks: Classic case of food poisoning. Visceral lesions already healed with Draconic Ichor. It should suffice to take emetics as prescribed, which will effectively remove any residual poison through vomiting. I should further note that everyone knows that even the strongest, hardiest, long-life foxians cannot eat chocolate!

Also, for minor ailments such as this, do not make the patient wait too long. Just wake me up! Moreover, couldn't you find me some more challenging cases? Are you trying to waste my talents?"

「丹鼎司醫案治驗總要•卷七十三•例五百八十二

主治醫師：白露。

患者：錦余（持明），女，十三日又兩個時辰。

主訴：患者不及數月便會蛻生輪迴，重煥新生。其成長速度百倍於尋常持明族。

辯證：蛻生異症，世所罕有，萬中無一。

處方：無藥可醫，多喝熱水

用法：無

按語：確實是疑難雜症！還是本小姐治不好的那種！

持明族蛻生輪迴的機理至今仍是一個未被破解的謎。有醫者認為持明通過輪迴修復漫長生命周期中的損傷，但這位患者的情況顯然有違此理。

我已化驗了她的血樣、髓液，也讓她服下了透影蟲，仔細查看了大腦，並無病變區域。唉，生命真是奇妙，即便是免於衰老、死亡，長生種也無法徹底解脫疾病的困擾啊。

本小姐的身體也是，自打長出頂角後…六七年過去了，就再也沒長高過！這到底是什麼問題啊。一定是因為被那些討厭的龍師長老們整天看着的緣故！娃娃不出去跑，怎麼能長高？

Character Story: Part II

• Unlocked at Character Level 40

"Alchemy Commission Collected Treatment Histories: Volume Seventy-Three, Case Study 582

Presiding Physician: Bailu.

Patient: Jinyu, female Vidyadhara, aged thirteen days and four hours.

Complaint: Patient undergoes cycle of hatching rebirth every few months. Her growth is a hundred times faster than a normal Vidyadhara.

Diagnosis: Rebirth abnormality, extremely rare, a one-in-a-million condition.

Prescription: No available medicine. Drink plenty of hot water.

Usage: Not applicable.

Remarks: Well, this is one of those difficult cases! The sort I unfortunately am unable to treat.

The mechanism underlying the hatching rebirth of Vidyadhara remains a mystery. Some healers take the view that Vidyadhara use the rebirth cycle to repair injuries sustained during their long life-cycle, but such a notion clearly does not apply to this patient's situation.

I have tested her blood and marrow and had her ingest translucence worms to allow a thorough examination of her brain. But I've found no diseased parts. Ah, what a marvel life is! Even long-life species exempt from aging and death are not entirely immune to the ravages of disease.

It is the same as regards my own health. It is now six or seven years since I first sprouted horns, but I have not grown taller in that time. I am sure it is because I have those horrid Preceptors watching over me all the day long. If a child does not get out to run about, how will it grow tall?

Healers who read this case study, when will you release me? I am not some truly wicked ne'er-do-well. Why am I so closely guarded? It makes me so very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very angry!"

主治醫師：白露。

患者：景元（仙舟人），男，年齡不詳（十王司肯定知道）。

主訴：胸悶氣短，嗜睡，眼睛困得睜不開。此次問診為例行複診。

辯證：神策府里坐太久了。

處方：蒜苗五花肉1碟，脆瓜胡辣雞丁1碟，鯽香肉絲1盤，陳婆豆腐1碗，脆皮仔豬1隻，狩原毛峰1杯。

用法：吃就完事了。吃完覺得撐，自然就會想要外出走動消食，正好可以換換心情。

按語：將軍每年都要來問診，理由大多是什麼『胸悶氣短』、『眼睛困得睜不開』，想要檢查檢查身子。

將軍的氣機運行健旺得很，既沒有奇症困擾，也察覺不出半點魔陰身徵兆（雖然這事兒歸十王司管，但本小姐還是特地留神了一下哈）。

本小姐覺得，他就是悶得慌，沒事溜出來晃蕩。不然他每次來也不會都帶上一個甜點盒子，塞進三四樣果仁蜜餞什麼的，坐下就跟我侃大山。什麼我最近身體怎麼樣，做不做夢，吃的如何，比起我，他倒像個醫生了。

不過我挺喜歡跟他說說話兒的。不像那些老東西，將軍不擺架子，又喜歡逗悶子，還經常說起自己出征去過的世界，各種精彩。唉，本小姐不想枯坐醫齋，本小姐也想仗劍走天涯啊啊啊……」  

Character Story: Part III

"Alchemy Commission Collected Treatment Histories: Volume One Hundred and Twenty-Eight, Case Study 39

Presiding Physician: Bailu.

Patient: Jing Yuan, male Xianzhou native of indeterminate age (though the Ten-Lords Commission surely knows).

Complaint: Tightness of chest and shortness of breath, drowsiness, eyes too tired to keep open. This consultation is a routine repeat check-up.

Diagnosis: Cooped inside the Seat of Divine Foresight for far too long.

Prescription: One serving of Garlic-infused Pork, one serving of Crisped Melon and Diced Chicken, one serving of pork slices in fish sauce, one serving of Granny Chen's Tofu, one crispy suckling pig, and one cup of Hunter Maofeng tea.

Usage: Just eat. It will make him feel full, then naturally he'll want to get out and about to work it off, which will also improve his mood.

Remarks: The general comes to see me about his health every year, complaining of symptoms such as "tight chest and shortness of breath" or "struggling to keep eyes open" and wanting me to give him a check-up.

The movement of the general's qi is extremely vigorous and there are no signs of affliction by strange diseases or being stricken with mara. (Although such things are the province of the Ten-Lords Commission, I always exercise special caution in this regard.)

It is my view that he is simply bored senseless and has slipped out to rove about when he found some free time. If that were not the case, why show up every time with a box of sweetmeats, nuts and candies and whatnot, to plonk himself down and start shooting the breeze with me? How is my health? Have I had any dreams lately? How have I been eating? He's more like the doctor than I am.

I do very much enjoy chatting with the general. He's not like those old so-and-sos, no grand airs, likes to joke and tease, and he often tells me about the parts of the world he's been on expeditions to. All sorts of marvelous stuff. Ah, how I would love to leave doctoring behind and head off to the ends of the earth with sword in hand...!"
