This theme is to introduce some important English Exams in China. Most students should experience that.

1.College English Test (CET)

Also known as the College English Test Band 4 and Band 6. It is a large-scale standardized test managed by the Ministry of Education in China.

The Band 4 is an intermediate level and Band 6 is an advanced level. 

The test is conducted twice a year, in June and December, now includes both written and oral components.  In some universities, these exams are held before the final exam weeks, so students will be very busy then.

Many universities had asked students to pass CET-4, or else they cannot get the graduation certificate. But now less and less schools take this rule.

The Public English Test System is a national English proficiency test that includes five levels, each with a written and an oral component.

It is open to the public, including students, workers, and professionals who wish to evaluate their English proficiency. 

The levels range from basic communication skills (PETS 1) to advanced proficiency suitable for postgraduate studies or professional work (PETS 5). 

PETS is organized by the Ministry of Education's Examination Authority and is held twice a year, typically in March and September.

In fact, this test are less popular and famous than CET-4 and CET-6.

The Test for English Majors is specifically designed for students majoring in English. 

It includes two levels: TEM-4 and TEM-8. (Undergraduates can also take part in TEM-8 as long as it passes TEM-4)

The exams test a wide range of English language skills, including listening, reading, writing, and translation.
