然而，若想更進一步升任司舵，停雲那溫良的性格便要從助力變作絆腳石了——畢竟天舶司歷任執掌者均是王牌飛行士，又個個是刀山火海里蹚過的戰士——停雲既無駕駛星槎的天分，也不善殺傷，與天舶司現任司舵馭空可謂是雲泥之別。
更何況馭空已打算將未來託付於她，她卻不清楚自己是否真有資格。
馭空於她而言不僅僅是值得信賴的上級、又或是行商遇險時出手搭救的救命恩人；在她心中，馭空已儼然成為光芒四射的偶像。她視之為精神寄託，視之為指引前路的道標；她想攥住星光，又發現自己只能在陰影中拼命追趕。直到那孤星同她說：
「時代在變。仙舟在變。總有一天，這艘巨艦會徹底厭倦血與火的天空。到那時候，這天舶司就是屬於你的舞台了。」
她不知這番話中有幾分玩笑，但她還是認真地把這些文字裝入信封，鎖在本家商鋪的抽屜深處。她想自己一定不能忘記。
「即便不能驅舟上陣，也有我一展所長的機會。」狐人少女對自己說道。羅浮停泊緩航，正自與孽物的征戰中休養生息，商業繁榮成了時代的底色。
少女明白馭空的期許，遂奔向星空，尋求更多的盟助與交誼。
「小女子這番鼓唇弄舌的功夫，又何嘗不是一種『使舵』的本領呢？」

However, if she ever hopes to be promoted to Helm Master, Tingyun's gentle personality will shift from being a strength to a stumbling block — after all, the Sky-Faring Commission has always been run by ace pilots, all of them warriors baptized by the flames of war. Meanwhile, Tingyun doesn't have the knack for driving a starskiff, let alone a skill for killing. That's the main difference between her and the current Helm Master of the Sky-Faring Commission, Yukong.
What's more, Yukong has already planned on handing over the future to Tingyun, but Tingyun doesn't know if she's truly qualified to take it on.
To her, Yukong is not merely a trustworthy superior or even a savior during a crisis. In her heart, Yukong is also a kind of glorious idol. She views Yukong as someone to entrust her spirits in, as a beacon to guide her. She wants to hold onto that starlight, but has discovered that she can only chase in desperation from the shadows. Until one day, that lone star said to her:
"Times are changing. Xianzhou is changing. One day, this giant ship will grow utterly exhausted of a sky full of blood and war. When that time comes, the Sky-Faring Commission will be your stage."
She didn't know how much of what was said was a joke, but she carefully sealed these words into the envelope and locked it in the back of the drawer at her store. She resolved to never forget.
"Even if I can't go into battle, there's still a chance for me to show my strength." Says the foxian girl to herself. The Luofu is currently moored in orbit, undergoing re-invigoration after a campaign against the abominations. Flourishing commerce becomes the backdrop to this era.
Understanding Yukong's expectations of her, Tingyun flies beyond the skies, seeking more alliances and friendships.
"When it comes to who is the best helm master on the Luofu, people will naturally say Madam Yukong's the champion. But if you ask me..."
"My skillful oratory must count for some kind of helm mastery, right?"
