牛津的定義：a visit to the main cities of Europe made by rich young British or American people as part of their education in the past

「壯遊」的話，源自唐朝杜甫《壯遊》一詩，指胸懷壯志的遊歷活動，具有旅遊時間長、行程挑戰性高、與人文社會互動深特質。 這麼看來確實教育意義並不濃厚
